PROBLEM

Strokes are unexpected, unpredictable, and extremely detrimental if not treated immediately. Our hopes were to minimize the neurological damage of a stroke by quicker detection for at-risk patients.

SOLUTION

For this, we created ElectroWAVE, a portable electroencephalogram machine that can automatically detect any abnormalities in one's brain activity using machine learning software, and can alert emergency services immediately if an issue develops.

➡️This project was entered in the International Youth BrainSTEM Summit hosted by International Youth Neuroscience Association and Simply Neuroscience where I competed with over 600 individuals across the world. I had the chance to work with an incredible team from 3 different time zones to create a project in the category of engineering and neuroscience in less than 24 hours. This was my very first science-related ideathon, which was quite different from the usual hackathon experience, but nevertheless, equally as enjoyable and rewarding.
